The first thing to note is that the website has been somewhat reorganized. When work began on this website, it seemed simple enough to have each ship listed on the menu on the left. As more ships were added, however, the menu became quite long! So ships have now been grouped by type. The ship types are what now appear on the menu, and the ships themselves are on sub-menus.
Now onto a more content based note. This website has been established based on a Classic Trek film era design. However, many of the ships featured here, specifically any that have a registry number lower then 2000, are assumed to have existed during the era of the original television series, as well. Indeed, many of these ships' histories make reference to them having been refitted at some point.
Thus it was thought that it might be fun to produce designs for these ships' original configurations. So far this has been done for four ships: U.S.S. Herodotus, U.S.S. Griffin, U.S.S. Sakura, and U.S.S. Goliath. (Also, U.S.S. Constitution is represented via schematics taken from Vance's Schematics.)
It has been found that the production of these retro designs is just as much of a challenge as making the original designs they are based on. It is quite an interesting process assembling them in such a way that they have the original series design aesthetic, but are also clearly the same ship as the film era design originally presented.
Hopefully, you can enjoy the results! More such classic designs will be forthcoming as time allows.
