One of these are original designs, the U.S.S. Hornblower.
With the focus of this website being classic film-era designs, and with the canon Constitution and Miranda classes already having been added, the exclusion of the other two known canon designs of this era was starting to seem a bit strange. Thus, it was decided to include these as well. Unfortunately, these designs were not available from Vance's Schematics. And it is amazing how different a feel starship schematics can have when drawn up by different people!
A schematic for an Oberth Class (the class of the U.S.S. Grissom from Star Trek III) was found that I felt I could modify to be close enough, and thus the U.S.S. Kristiansen was born.
When acceptable Excelsior Class schematics are found, this ship will be included as well. But strangely, this is an odd class to find good schematics of!
